Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, reviews and fills customer orders, handles food safely and keeps the work area clean and neat.

Primary Duties
Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether encountering them in the assigned department or elsewhere in the store.
Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name when possible.
Assists customers (examples include):
Escorting them to the products they’re looking for
Securing products that are out of reach
Loading or unloading heavy items
Recording and passing along customer suggestions or requests
Performing any other tasks to enhance shopping experience
Answers telephone promptly and provides friendly service, taking orders.
Takes customer orders at the Market Grille counter.
Works with co‑workers as a team to ensure satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Reviews orders for the day.
Handles food safely and keeps work area clean and neat.
Reviews food freshness status and appearance.
Ensures adequate food supply ready; follows production list.
Anticipates product needs daily.
Prepares and replenishes product as necessary.
Pulls product from cooler/freezer to prepare for cooking.
Checks in product, puts product away, and may review invoices.
Runs department registers, receives payment, makes change when applicable.
Removes trash in a timely manner.
Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines on hygiene and dress.
Adheres to company policies and store guidelines.
Reports to work on schedule and on time.
Secondary Duties
Washes dishes as necessary.
Orders product and supplies as necessary.
Prices products for customers as necessary.
Delivers orders as needed.
Assists in other store areas as needed.
Performs other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics
Ability to carry out detailed but not complex written or verbal instructions.
Ability to do simple addition and subtraction, count and record figures.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, request supplies orally or in writing.
Education and Experience
No education requirement. Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform medium work, exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Visual requirements: vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, field of vision.
Must perform clamping, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
Working Conditions
Work in a store environment with pressure to meet deadlines, handle multiple priorities, exposure to noise, equipment movement hazards, cleaning chemicals/solvents, possible electrical shock, temperature extremes.
Equipment Used
Standard kitchen tools: disposal, trash compactor, slicer, Hobart machine, grill, fryer, dishwasher, register system, ovens, rotisserie, knives, label maker, and company vehicle.
Contacts
Has daily contact with the general public and customers. Contacts federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies regarding inspections.
