Your Day at Lowe’s
As a Customer Service Associate, you will welcome customers, help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs, interact with them throughout the day, assist with merchandise selection, occasionally load merchandise, and ensure all customer needs are met. Your daily responsibilities may vary by department.

Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skill sets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers to Lowe’s, answer questions, and deliver friendly and professional customer service.

Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise.

Down stock merchandise by searching for empty areas on shelves and replenishing supplies.

Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.

Cross‑functionally train in other areas of the store to help deliver the best customer service.

Prepare merchandise in your department based on customer needs (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds).

Guide customers through shopping or checkout.

Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.

6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.

Reading, writing, and performing basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).

Able to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.

Minimally lift 25 lbs unassisted or over 25 lbs with or without an accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.

Bi‑lingual skills.

Certification in trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, and lumber/building materials).

Travel Requirements
This role does not require regular travel; however, occasional travel may be necessary for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores.

Working Conditions
Environmental factors vary by location. You may work in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions. Exposure to intermittent noises and moving or shaking objects and equipment is possible. Lifting guidelines limit single lifts to 75 lbs; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 lbs or as needed. Powered equipment should be used with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.
