Office Designer
Zealot, Washington, District of Columbia, United States
We're a fast-moving startup in Penn Quarter looking for someone to come in, design our office layout, source great furniture, and get everything ordered and installed fast.
What you'll do
You’ll walk our ~4,500 sq ft space, understand how a small technical team works, and make smart decisions on furniture, layout, and aesthetics to make this space a modern industrial haven. Then you'll own the entire procurement and setup process end-to-end: sourcing, ordering, delivery coordination, and final placement. We want this done in weeks, not months.
We're looking for someone who
Has furnished offices or commercial spaces before (portfolio or references required)
Knows where to source quality furniture quickly: contract dealers, direct-to-business brands, liquidation sales, whatever gets results
Can work within a budget and make tradeoffs without hand-holding
Is local to DC and available to start immediately
Can manage delivery logistics and coordinate with building management
Nice to have
Experience with startup or tech office environments
Relationships with furniture vendors in the DC metro area
An eye for design that doesn't require a six-figure budget
This is a short-term contract engagement. Scope is straightforward: make the office look and feel great, get it done quickly, and stay on budget.
