Assistant State Attorney – Position #2100-6522 – Escambia / Pensacola
Responsible for prosecuting all criminal cases in Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton counties.
Minimum entry‑level annual salary: $75,000.00, commensurate with experience, with benefits comparable to $104,141.46 annually (State of Florida employee retirement, insurance options, paid holidays, and paid leave).
Responsibilities include preparation of criminal cases for prosecution; legal research; depositions; interviewing witnesses, victims, and other parties to ascertain facts; trial work, including preparation, summation, and presentation in jury and non‑jury trials; examination and cross‑examination of witnesses and defendants.
Qualifications: Florida Bar members in good standing; strong interest in courtroom litigation; excellent communication and critical‑thinking skills; ability to work independently and as a team member; background check and fingerprinting required; proof of U.S. citizenship or legal right to work in the United States.
Applicants considered for employment with experience in litigation and/or criminal law through coursework, internships, or prosecutorial experience for lateral hires.
