Senior Contract Specialist
The Building People, LLC, is hiring a Senior Contract Specialist for the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The Specialist will assist with acquisition and administration activities for a broad range of agency‑wide contracts and acquisition vehicles, provide business analysis and reporting, consult on contracting, and review project execution quarterly to ensure contractual and financial objectives are met.
Responsibilities
Assist with acquisition and administration of agency contracts and vehicles.
Provide overall business analysis recommendations and reports.
Consult on expert contracting and program analytical activities.
Review project execution quarterly to ensure contractual and financial goals.
Ensure deliverables meet expectations and quality standards.
Maintain excellent oral and written communication skills.
Meet deadlines and perform under pressure in an uncertain environment.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Skills
10+ years of direct support in federal acquisition processes, including all types of contracts (FFP, cost‑reimbursement, and T&M).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of contracting procedures, types, and methods.
Industry analysis for source determination and impact assessment on agency needs.
Contract life‑cycle support from administration to program assistance.
Contract and project management support.
Management of effort, support services contracts, and coordination between entities.
Construction and management principles for project development.
Subcontractor and consultant management.
Cost and price analysis techniques for labor and direct costs.
Negotiation strategies to reduce costs and adjust delivery schedules.
Preferred Experience & Skills
Strong interpersonal/social skills and proven staff officer/contractor support excellence.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (or 2–5 years of specialized experience can be substituted).
