Responsibilities
Leading delivery of project-based engagements involving contract review, abstraction, analysis and remediation services in response to client transactions and other triggering events.
Create executive summaries of executed contracts to enable client business teams’ understanding of risk and compliance with positions.
Review, redline and negotiate broad range of contract types including procurement and sale of services, technology, data, content and products.
Collaborate with client stakeholders to mitigate identified risks in the contract language being negotiated and ensure the commercial objectives are fulfilled within the stipulated timeframe.
Understand and work within client specific processes and negotiation strategies.
Communicate independently with the client’s business and legal stakeholders with a view to building/strengthening relationships.
Work within a team to ensure service delivery in accordance with the agreed project scope, ensuring overall client satisfaction and compliance with SLAs, and actively identifying client needs.
Lead regular communication forums involving internal and external stakeholders.
Serve as point of escalation for the project team to address both technical and people management issues.
Work to understand, implement and facilitate use of Contract Management technologies and AI point solutions to enable delivery services and address client needs.
Innovate and improve upon current processes and techniques including in relation to workflow, time and knowledge management.
Facilitate reporting via daily/weekly/monthly metrics packs to internal and external project stakeholders, including members of senior management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5 to 7 years of experience in a large multinational corporation, law firm or management consulting firm (or equivalent).
Membership in good standing with a State Bar or relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CIPP/E, CIPPM, CISA, CISSP, CISM, LPIP, PMP).
Deep contracting subject matter expertise; ability to work with different contract types and structures and strong issue spotting ability.
Contract negotiation experience handling volumes across a variety of transactions; ideally both buy and sell side.
Experience leading workstreams in large data-driven engagements.
Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills at all levels, including presentation skills, both formal and informal.
Familiarity working with contracting/CLM technology and an interest in developing and utilizing leading AI applications.
Highly responsive to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
Strong relationship and people leadership skills – be a team player, facilitate, encourage different points of view and effectively manage conflict.
High energy, self‑starter, ability to work independently, analytical, quick learner, organized, flexible to change and drive results.
Strong problem solving, analytical and project management skills are desirable.
Ideal Candidates Should Have
JD or master’s degree in a preferred field (Information Systems, Business, Analytics, Finance, or Accounting).
Experience working with legal‑adjacent functions (e.g., procurement, supply chain, commercial) and an understanding of non‑legal business objectives.
