Provide day‑to‑day support services within the Dean’s Office, acting as receptionist to greet visitors and answer incoming calls, and support other College of Design units on a temporary basis as needed. Report directly to the Executive Assistant to the Dean and provide administrative and project support to senior College of Design leaders.

Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate all administrative services within a small to moderate‑sized campus unit or part of the services function within a larger unit. Responsibilities include administrative affairs related to human resources, purchasing, budgets and financial records, and general clerical support. Set employee goals, assess performance, provide feedback, and make pay recommendations. Interact regularly with unit management and staff, advise and counsel them, and supervise assigned unit administrative personnel.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement unit administrative processes and procedures consistent with overall institute administrative policy.

Define and communicate administrative staff duties; monitor performance and provide feedback.

Supervise the maintenance of unit financial records.

Oversee unit human resources administration, including transaction processing, time reporting and records maintenance.

Supervise and coordinate direct administrative support to unit management; organize and supervise unit records management function.

Coordinate unit purchasing activities, including preparation of purchasing documents, ordering and maintaining supplies.

Schedule and organize meetings and other events.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

Four to five years of job‑related experience.

Experience with:

Microsoft Office, Workday, OneUSG, and professional writing.

Skills:

Supervisory and organization skills; knowledge of general office administrative processes and practices; records management; event planning.

Job Grade: A8. Anticipated salary range is $56,679 to $71,500, commensurate with qualifications.
