Job Position Description:

KRDO is seeking a highly motivated Digital Content Producer to create content for the station website, app and social media platforms. The successful candidate will have news writing and digital experience in a newsroom. We are looking for someone who can thrive in the fast‑paced digital realm for breaking news and weather, investigations and exclusive content. The Digital Content Producer must be social media‑savvy and understand how to drive metrics for diverse audiences on each platform. The successful candidate must also be comfortable regularly communicating with multiple members of the news team to ensure digital deadlines and needs are being met. The Digital Content Producer must also be comfortable working independently and monitoring the scanner and social platforms for breaking news.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Create content for station website, app, and social media platforms.

Lead in getting breaking and developing news on digital platforms with little oversight.

Recognize and execute live stream and video opportunities.

Work closely with anchors, reporters and photographers to ensure daily, digital deadlines are being met.

Track digital metrics daily and work closely with the Digital Content Director to maximize growth.

Produce interactive and multimedia content on station websites and social channels.

Develop creative approaches for data heavy stories to present them in an easy‑to‑understand format.

Work closely with the Assignment Manager, Executive Producer and newscast producers for breaking news.

Required Qualifications:

BS/BA Degree preferably in Journalism.

News writing and digital experience in a newsroom.

Sound news judgement and solid understanding of legal liabilities.

Understanding of digital audience needs and expectations.

Experienced user of social media platforms to include Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

HTML and CMS experience.

Possess the ability to excel under pressure.

Must possess strong people skills to work with staff and respond to inquiries from viewers and officials in a professional manner.

Must be willing to occasionally shift schedule for breaking news and other newsroom needs.

Working knowledge of general productivity software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point).

Must be able to come into the newsroom 5 days per week. This is not a remote or hybrid position.

Annual Salary Range:
$41,000.00- $43,000.00. Non‑Exempt. Based on Experience.
