Optical/ Mechanical Assembler
Reports to
Supervisor / Manager
Job Summary
Assemble electronics according to product specifications.
Soldering under Maglite shielded cables.
Fine pitch capabilities or experience with wires to host.
Follows visual aids to put together mechanical and electronic products.
Uses hand and power tools and other assembly equipment.
Utilizes quality practices and procedures to assure that the assemblies are accurately and effectively manufactured.
Maintains a clean, neat and orderly area.
Responsible for the quality and accuracy of own work.
Accountabilities/Scope
Interfaces: Inter‑company personnel
People Managed: None
Decisions
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of complicated tasks.
May lead and direct the work of others.
Impact of Error
Direct impact on product quality.
Requirements
Knowledge/ Skills
Experience with soldering equipment and wires to host
Experience with clean room environment
Excellent knowledge of IPC-610 workmanship requirements.
Understanding of ESD protocols.
Absolute attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to adapt to various tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Education / Experience
High school diploma and/or GED or equivalent work experience.
Working knowledge of IPC.
Experience with optics preferred (i.e., assemblies that include lenses, etc.).
At least 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
