Position Overview
Thea Energy is seeking highly skilled and motivated technicians to join our rapidly growing team. The Engineering Technician will be at the forefront of bringing our innovative designs to life. You will be responsible for hands‑on fabrication, assembly, and testing of critical hardware including superconducting magnets, high vacuum and cryogenic equipment, electromechanical systems, and other associated hardware. You will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, troubleshoot complex problems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes. Key Responsibility Areas
Build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems
Assist in developing new equipment, tools, procedures, and inspection techniques to reduce production time while maintaining high quality
Responsible for tool and workspace organization and maintenance
Assemble and troubleshoot test articles and supporting test equipment
Collaborate to support development of manufacturing processes and tooling
Required Experience & Skillsets
High‑school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience in shop fabrication, manufacturing, research, or high‑tech industry
5+ years of technical experience with any of the following: mechanical or electrical systems, high pressure or high vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, plumbing, soldering, system testing, power or controls systems
Comfortable working to aggressive deadlines and exceptional work ethic
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite tools or similar software
Ideal Experience
Knowledge of quality control and inspection procedures
Experience operating, maintaining, or troubleshooting or programming automation equipment, e.g. PLC, HMI, or process controllers
Experience with reflow solder processes, including PCBA manufacturing
Crane or lifting experience
Forklift experience
Experience with electrical schematic and wiring
Experience using various types of hand tools and precision measuring tools
Experience in documenting, improving, and implementing process instructions
Experience with reading and reviewing mechanical drawings
Experience with machining, operating manual milling, saws, and other tools
Company Benefits
Hourly rate $30-43/hr

Requirements
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to perform activities such as typing, standing, or sitting for extended periods of time
Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
Ability to work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
