Job Overview
The Foreman leads field crews on excavation, heavy civil, grading, and utilities projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards while coordinating with project managers and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and direct daily activities of operators, laborers, teamsters, and other crew members (2–6+ people).
Plan and sequence work for excavation, trenching, grading, backfill, and utility installation.
Read and interpret blueprints, specs, and schedules to ensure accurate execution.
Coordinate equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities on site.
Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain OSHA compliance.
Monitor progress, quality, productivity, report issues or changes to management.
Oversee the setup, calibration, and effective use of Topcon GPS machine control systems (or equivalent GNSS technology) to achieve precise grading, excavation depths, and site tolerances.
Train crew, resolve conflicts, and perform hands‑on work (e.g., operating equipment) as needed.
Manage timecards, daily logs, and site housekeeping.
