Position Summary
Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport proudly stands at the forefront of renewable energy technology. Since 1927, it has been home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. Originally focused on cereal production, the factory transitioned to become a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90s. Today, it holds the distinction of being the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S. With utmost care, our dedicated team in Davenport produces, packages, and ships a wide range of our beloved brands including Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle®.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you are responsible for the preventative mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical equipment in the factory. You will follow plant sanitation practices and procedures while staying informed of new technology and equipment as it pertains to plant operations. Working in a safe manner at all times, you will play a major role in machine reliability and process improvements across the plant. Our maintenance work includes both predictive and preventative maintenance.

Properly use maintenance equipment including hand tools, lifts, threaders, benders, drills and welding equipment.

Repair gear reducers, belt and screw conveyors, chain elevators, and packaging equipment.

Maintain wastewater system, boiler operations, cooling towers, and general building needs.

Use test equipment such as multimeters, megohmmeters, and process simulators.

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.

MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

2+ years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military, or related environment.

The approximate starting pay for this position is $40.18 per hour for Maintenance Mechanic Class C. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
