Undergraduate Tech Intern – Emerging Threats & Technologies

Overview
At PNNL, the Emerging Threats & Technologies Division of the National Security Directorate seeks an intern to solve critical national challenges using advanced techniques. The intern will engage in projects related to national security, energy, and science, applying cutting‑edge research, AI tools, and data analytics to support PNNL stakeholders and national priorities.

Responsibilities
The intern will:

work under close supervision of senior engineers and scientists;

be presented with complex problems in national security, energy, and science;

apply AI‑driven data analytics, process automation, report generation, and analysis of large datasets;

support data collection, analysis, and reporting challenges for national‑level needs;

adhere to strict quality, security, and safety requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

high school diploma/GED or higher;

degree‑seeking undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited college or university;

at least 6 credit hours and cumulative GPA of 2.5.

Preferred Qualifications:

interest and willingness to learn about AI development, tools utilization, data analytics, and reporting;

enrollment in an undergraduate program focused on data analysis & management, information systems management, or operations.
