Overview

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail in processing benefits transactions with a high degree of accuracy, including pre-employment medical clearances and Live Scan background processing. The role requires working knowledge of human resources functions with emphasis on benefits administration support, recruitment coordination, and personnel processes.
Responsibilities

Provide front office coverage and deliver professional customer service while managing inquiries, directing visitors, and supporting daily administrative operations.

Support recruitment efforts, including serving as a proctor for candidate testing and ensuring a fair, organized, and professional testing environment.

Assist with benefits administration and related HR processes, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, particularly in pre-employment matters.

Collaborate with internal departments, candidates, and external partners to ensure seamless HR operations.

Education and Experience

MINIMUM:

60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college with major coursework in human resources, business or public administration, industrial relations, economics or related field and one (1) year of progressively responsible office support experience with some human resources experience. Relevant human resources experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major coursework in human resources, public or business administration, industrial relations, economics, or related field and progressively responsible experience performing technical work in a private/public agency human resources office.
Licenses and Certification

The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; may be required to maintain throughout employment.
Special Requirements

Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire.
Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
