Mechanical Design Engineer Data Center Facilities
– Valhalla, NY or Los Angeles, CA • Full-time
At Ramboll, you will join a dedicated group of professionals working in Data Center Strategy, Planning, Design, Integration, Commissioning and Testing with experience in data centers globally. This role focuses on mechanical design for mission-critical environments and requires collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, vendors and contractors.
Responsibilities
Plan, conceptualize, and create HVAC mechanical designs for new and retrofit buildings/projects in the mission-critical environment
Duct design and piping design experience
Central plant cooling design
Perform typical HVAC engineering calculations to support design work
Create technical drawings, plans, and specifications (using computer software) for review by Sr. Engineer
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
Ensure project timelines are met and project stays within budget
Able to travel to project sites
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering
EIT/PE a plus
5 years (min) of experience working for a design engineering firm, Mission Critical design experience a plus
Firm grasp of engineering concepts including theoretical and practical applications for HVAC Systems
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office programs
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
Must be self-motivated and know project design steps/requirements

Salary Transparency
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 annually and does not include bonuses, overtime or other forms of compensation or benefits. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
