Scope

Electrically troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain facility buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems.

Primarily 1st shift schedule, with possible 2nd, 3rd, split shifts, weekends, holidays, 12‑hour shifts, and on‑call.

Daily work directed by Group Leader and a Facility Electrician A; reports directly to the department Foreman.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks under general supervision.

Provide training and assistance to less experienced electricians.

Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain electrical distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical disconnects, batteries, and wiring.

Perform high voltage switching activities.

Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using hand tools and testing instruments.

Operate, monitor, and maintain utilities including HVAC, process equipment, and balance schedules.

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical equipment and systems in accordance with SOPs and safety policies.

Perform miscellaneous manual labor activities such as sweeping, cleaning, heavy material handling, minor repairs, mowing, and shoveling snow.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility infrastructure including motors, controls, fire alarms, and clock systems.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facility lighting systems; install and repair lighting fixtures, controls, lamps, ballasts, and covers.

Perform inspections and routine maintenance on all types of cranes and hoists.

Perform tasks during facility emergencies such as loss of utilities.

Oversee facility maintenance contracts and service work as assigned.

Order and maintain spare parts.

Assist with keeping neat and orderly records on work performed.

Work with Engineering, Production Team Leads, Foreman, Group Leaders, and fellow tradesmen to accomplish desired results.

Adjust schedule and work hours to accommodate assignment needs, including on‑call and rotating shifts.

Perform work assignments efficiently while maintaining safety practices.

Assist in procedure/equipment upgrades as necessary.

Report any maintenance and/or safety issues to supervisor.

Review, understand, and follow all company specifications, procedures, and regulatory rules associated with the job.

Other duties as assigned by the department Foreman.

May be asked to rotate between Mentor and Euclid based on training requirements.

Work safely and observe all EHS procedures.

Follow safe equipment operating procedures and ensure guards are in place.

Access to EHS documents (JHA, SDS, etc.) available upon request.

Immediately notify Foreman of any safety hazards or equipment issues.

Follow personal protective equipment policy detailed in Plant Rules & Regulations EHS560 & EHS580.

Basic Requirements

Successfully completed an Electrician Apprentice Program, Associate degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology, or equivalent experience.

Pass the skilled trade assessment test for this position.

Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting; some knowledge of combustion systems may be required.

Basic experience in relay logic and industrial controls.

Basic experience reading wiring diagrams and engineering drawings.

Excellent attendance.

Good organizational and communication skills.

Team oriented, self‑motivated, safety and quality conscious; minimal supervision.

Capability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.

May be required to operate basic shop equipment such as hoist, forklift, scissor lift.

Mechanically inclined.

Ability to work in confined areas, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 50 feet.

Ability to wear a respirator.

Ability to distinguish colors used in cable coding.

Willingness to continuously improve technical skills and knowledge.

Ability to understand and interpret specifications and procedures related to this job.

Training

As directed by the department Foreman in conjunction with experienced personnel.

Foreman ensures employee receives training per the Maintenance Department Training Matrix.

Foreman determines when an individual has completed training and is qualified to assume responsibilities.

Compensation
Selected candidate’s job level and pay grade will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
