Job Description
A busy solo practitioner focused on Domestic Relations / Family Law is seeking an experienced, reliable Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join the practice. This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role supporting cases involving divorce, custody, child support, and related matters.
This position is best suited for someone who can work independently, stay highly organized in a fast‑paced environment, and confidently manage both administrative and legal responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Communicate directly with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Prepare, review, and file legal documents (including e‑filing)
Assist with case management from intake through resolution
Enter, track, and analyze client financial and case‑related data
Maintain accurate client records using Clio or similar case management software
Manage deadlines, calendars, and case timelines
Required Qualifications (Dealbreakers)
2+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant
MUST have Family Law / Domestic Relations experience (divorce, custody, support, etc.)
Experience with court filings (e‑filing preferred)
Proficiency with Clio or similar legal case management software
Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with clients
Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience working in a solo or small law firm environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience handling client financial documentation
