Commercial Real Estate Paralegal
for our Charleston office. The role requires prior law firm experience supporting attorneys in complex commercial real estate matters.
This dynamic position offers the opportunity to assist attorneys in a fast‑paced and collaborative Commercial Real Estate practice, working alongside other paralegals and project assistants.
Responsibilities
Prepare critical dates memos and closing checklists.
Analyze title commitments, title instruments, and boundary surveys.
Prepare authorizing resolutions and closing certificates.
Coordinate all parties involved in real‑estate closings.
Draft summaries and objection letters related to title reviews.
Organize and fulfill conditions to meet title requirements.
Conduct research on real‑property tax and ownership information.
Coordinate real‑estate closings alongside colleagues.
Monitor recording and issuance of final title insurance policies.
Manage post‑closing matters.
Draft, review, and manage commercial leases, amendments, and ancillary documents, ensuring compliance with legal standards and client specifications.
Coordinate with clients and title companies to facilitate the execution of lease documents and resolve leasing‑related issues promptly.
Assist trust and estate lawyers with probate filings when requested.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate law.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines for discerning clients.
Excellent client‑service skills; ability to handle multiple matters simultaneously, organized, and with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills at all levels, including management and support staff.
Computer proficiency for document organization and management, and overall technological familiarity.
Independent worker who is also an effective team player, with a proactive, self‑starting mindset.
