Position Summary
The Charge Nurse is a management position responsible for organizing, planning, directing, coordinating, and providing high quality, individualized patient care pursuant to the position accountabilities set forth below. This includes assisting with the development and implementation of systems for evaluation of clinical competency of the nursing staff, helping to develop and update standards of care and policies, consultation of the nursing staff for complex nursing issues. It includes providing pertinent continuing education for existing staff, mentoring of new staff, and Performance Improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Current California Registered Nurse license.
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
NIHSS
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Membership in a professional organization
CCRN
Member of hospital committee

Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
