Job Summary

The Regent University Library is seeking a full-time, professional librarian with faculty rank to support research and instruction and to create a new historical collection honoring the university founder, Dr. Pat Robertson. This position reports to the Dean of the University Library.

Essential Functions

  • Provide research assistance in person and virtually for designated hours
  • Implement appropriate courses and training tools for library instruction
  • Provide collection development for areas assigned
  • Develop, organize, and manage the Robertson Archives
  • Work with the Chancellor to collect and document the Robertson materials

Additional responsibilities include participating in librarian professional development activities, attending library meetings, and serving on designated University committees.

Education & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree from an ALA accredited institution is required; second master’s preferred.
  • Prerequisites: 3–5 years experience in an academic library setting providing instruction and research assistance. Knowledge of emerging educational models desirable.
  • Personal characteristics: Excellent teaching ability, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
