Job Summary
The Regent University Library is seeking a full-time, professional librarian with faculty rank to support research and instruction and to create a new historical collection honoring the university founder, Dr. Pat Robertson. This position reports to the Dean of the University Library.
Essential Functions
- Provide research assistance in person and virtually for designated hours
- Implement appropriate courses and training tools for library instruction
- Provide collection development for areas assigned
- Develop, organize, and manage the Robertson Archives
- Work with the Chancellor to collect and document the Robertson materials
Additional responsibilities include participating in librarian professional development activities, attending library meetings, and serving on designated University committees.
Education & Requirements
- Education: Master’s degree from an ALA accredited institution is required; second master’s preferred.
- Prerequisites: 3–5 years experience in an academic library setting providing instruction and research assistance. Knowledge of emerging educational models desirable.
- Personal characteristics: Excellent teaching ability, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
