Job Summary
As a Nurse Extern (Rehab PRN) you will be a valued part of the nursing team, gaining hands‑on experience as you explore the full scope of the Registered Nurse role. You’ll help deliver safe, compassionate care that improves patients’ lives while building the skills and confidence to take on more advanced responsibilities as you progress through your nursing program.

Responsibilities

Providing essential care for patients by assisting with ADLs, checking vital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring comfort and hygiene.

Performing nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter care, collecting specimens, and other basic procedures as experience and competency increase.

Documenting care accurately and communicating timely updates with the nursing team to keep patient care seamless and coordinated.

Helping patients and families understand care plans and offering guidance for health and recovery.

Keeping patient areas clean and safe by following infection prevention practices, managing equipment, and maintaining an organized environment.

Engaging in learning opportunities, sharing ideas to improve care, and partnering with supervisors or preceptors to build a personal career development plan.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited school of nursing.

1+ years of nursing school completed.

Ability to perform higher‑level procedures once competency is achieved under RN supervision.
