Facility: Sisters of Charity Hospital. Shift: Shift 1. Status: Full Time. FTE: 1.000000. Bargaining Unit: ACE Associates. Exempt from Overtime: No. Work Schedule: Days. Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Summary
The Service Representative for the Oncology and Infusion Centers is responsible for the organization and efficiency of the front end functions of the centers operated by Catholic Health. The Representative will answer telephones and assist patients directly or refer to appropriate staff. He/she will also navigate several IT programs including OR manager and Lawson. In addition, this position is responsible for financial monitoring of all patient accounts including co-payments, payment arrangements, verification of insurance eligibility, handling questions/concerns regarding patient financial responsibility and high level of customer service. As the front line for Infusion services, this position meets and refers all pharmaceutical manufacturers and specialty pharmacy representatives to the Director of Pharmacy, New Business Development for follow up appointments.
Responsibilities
EDUCATION
High school diploma required
Associates degree or completion of medical secretarial course strongly preferred
Experience
1 year experience in hospital/medical office setting
Knowledge, Skills And Ability
Must possess general office skills, including but not limited to computer/keyboarding, fax machines, typing and/or demonstrated computer proficiency
Knowledge of medical terminology
Must possess excellent/effective communication and interpersonal skills
Organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through a must
Has the ability to maintain composure when interacting with a wide variety of patients and circumstances
Highly motivated and willing to contribute skills and ideas for the overall improvement of the Center
Must be flexible and effective in a fast paced/changing healthcare environment
Strong knowledge of office equipment, i.e., computer, copier, fax, phone system
Understanding of Microsoft Excel
