Description

Total patient care for the Emergency Department Inpatient population includes four levels of care: ICU, IMU, Telemetry, and Med Surg, with a focus on oncology, surgical oncology, and bone marrow transplant. RNs must be qualified to care for the highest level of care (IMU) and have training in critical care, oncology concepts, surgery, and medicine.

Minimum Qualifications
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the State of California.
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months of hire date.
A minimum of two (2) years of recent adult acute care RN experience at the IMU level of care or higher acuity.
ED experience does not qualify.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients while maintaining patient safety.
Must be able to function in a fast-paced team environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.
Preferred Qualifications
BSN/MSN.
Recent ED Inpatient (EDIP) experience as an RN.
RN experience of oncology patient care, including management of immunocompromised patients or chemotherapy-related complications.
Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Must be willing to work night shift.
Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level pending review and approval by the Nurse Executive Council.
Pay Transparency
Annual Full Pay Range: $138,330 - $193,892 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $66.25 - $92.86
Factors in determining appropriate compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business needs. The Hiring Pay Scale refers to the budgeted salary or hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The range may be broader based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements where applicable.
