Responsibilities
Responsible for performing technical responsibilities relative to assisting cardiothoracic surgeons with the instrumentation of Open Heart surgery, as well as assisting in the preparation and management of tubings utilized by the heart‑lung (pump) machine.

Qualifications
Education
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred. Successful completion of a surgical technologist program that is accredited by a national accrediting organization or a successor organization or must have successfully completed a training program for surgical technologist administered by the U.S. Public Health Service, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard.

Experience
Minimum of two (2) years scrubbing experience in a major operating room, and at least one (1) year of experience as an Open Heart Scrub Technician.

License/Certification
Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting. Current BLS Certification.

Other
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care/service appropriate to the age of the patient.
