Responsibilities
Role: Registered Nurse (RN) – ER Night Shift (Westlake Location).

Role overview and expectations focused on patient care, safety and collaboration within the emergency department.

Role and Responsibilities

Assume shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to patients, families, care partners and others involved in care.

Coordinate multi-disciplinary team members; direct and facilitate nursing staff to obtain safe, optimal health care outcomes.

Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team; uphold the concepts of Patient Centered Care as the foundation for nursing care.

Demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times.

Recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke; initiate stroke alert process and participate in stroke care as needed, including NIHSS assessment and collaboration with the ED physician and ICU staff for thrombolytic therapy and preparation for Endovascular treatment as indicated.

Maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing NIHSS training and a minimum of 8 hours of stroke-related training annually.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; BSN preferred.

Minimum of 2 years emergency room experience; 1-3 years supervisory experience preferred.

BLS, ACLS, PALS (current upon hire).

TNCC (within 6 months of hire).

Current Florida nursing license.

Must successfully pass pre-employment assessments required by the facility.
