What to Expect
We are seeking an organized and reliable Engineering Technician to support the Cell Engineering Lab within the Battery Team at Tesla. This role involves assisting with lab operations, handling hazardous materials, and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth functionality. The ideal candidate will collaborate with lab management, fellow technicians, and engineers to uphold high standards of safety, organization, and efficiency in a dynamic research environment.
What You'll Do
Perform technical tasks such as mixing electrolytes in gloveboxes, conducting materials characterization measurements, and filling, measuring, and testing electrochemical cells with a high degree of attention to detail
Update and maintain accurate records of measurements and testing results, including high-level analysis to identify process or instrumentation issues
Report issues with lab operations promptly and assist in identifying effective solutions
Document and maintain standard operating procedures for various lab techniques and methodologies
Ensure lab spaces remain clean and organized while tracking inventory of consumables for timely restocking
Troubleshoot instruments and manage regular maintenance schedules in collaboration with team members and vendors
What You\'ll Bring
Strong communication skills and a high level of organization
Experience working in a lab environment with hazardous materials and chemicals
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Familiarity with cell cycling software, data analysis tools, or databasing as an advantage
Experience with air-sensitive materials or battery materials as an advantage
Experience working with gloveboxes as an advantage
