Job Summary
The PRE/PACU Registered Nurse will provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical procedures related to ophthalmology. This role requires a skilled nursing professional who can effectively assess, plan, and implement nursing care based on patient needs before and after anesthesia. The nurse will serve a critical role in monitoring patients' recovery and ensuring their comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities
Assess patients' conditions preoperatively and ensure readiness for eye surgery.
Monitor and document patients' vital signs and responses post-anesthesia.
Provide compassionate care and support to patients during the recovery phase.
Administer medications and perform necessary interventions as prescribed.
Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and expected outcomes.
Ensure all documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Uphold all safety standards and regulations in accordance with hospital protocols.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality.

Qualifications
Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
A minimum of 1 years of experience in a pre-operative or post-anesthesia care unit preferred.
Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ophthalmology environment.
