Hooks, Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Appeals Specialist to join the HMC Billing team. This role is ideal for a professional who excels at managing insurance claim denials, drafting persuasive appeal letters, and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement. Responsibilities
Review denied claims or underpaid claims
Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation
Research payer policies and denial reasons
Track appeal statuses and follow up with payers
Communicate with the Billing Manager to gather needed information
Maintain accurate documentation in billing systems
Audit clients to ensure appeals are handled promptly
Qualifications
1+ year experience in law office billing, claims, or appeals
Strong written communication skills
Ability to manage deadlines and work independentlyKnowledge of denial codes & payer guidelines (preferred)
Auditing skills (strongly preferred)
Must reside in the Southern Nevada area, as this position is in the office
Compensation
$45,000+ annually salary
