Electronics Technician
As an Electronics Technician on our team, you will perform electronics technician activities as needed by the Engineering Staff at the Aptiv Indiana Technical Center (Advanced Development Site for Occupant Sensing & Other Safety Electronics).
Responsibilities
Electronic component repair & replace on printed wiring boards (fine pitch/small parts).
Module assembly/dis-assembly to access electrical parts and/or make electronic repairs.
Wiring harness assembly dis-assembly as needed for test harnesses.
Assembly of load boxes (metal or plastic enclosures with jacks, switches, discrete electrical components, & internal wiring).
Qualifications
1 year proficiency in soldering / de-soldering of fine pitch ICs on printed wiring boards.
1 year proficiency in soldering / de-soldering of small chip components (typically using a microscope or magnifier) on printed wiring boards.
1 year proficiency with hand tools or table‐top power tools (saws, drill press, grinder, shear/brake, punches, crimping tools, etc.).
Proficiency with common office computer software (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).
1 year proficiency with microscopes and manipulation of small electronic components.
Proficiency with basic electrical diagnosis tools (voltmeter, resistance measurements, capacitance measurements, etc.).
Creativity in approaching mechanical and electrical problems.
Must be legally able to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship or transfer, now or at any time in the future.
Nice to Haves
On‐site 5 days per week in Carmel lab is required, however part‑time arrangements are potentially acceptable that contain definite office‑presence times/days of the week.
Ability to provide their own transportation between Carmel, IN; Westfield, IN; and Kokomo, IN for work at any of those labs.
Proficiency with common office computer software (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).
Proficiency with microscopes and manipulation of small electronic components.
