Introduction

Performance Pipe is seeking an Electronics Technician for our Knoxville, TN facility. Responsibilities will include working with maintenance personnel, operations personnel, engineers, contractors, and management to solve manufacturing problems related to troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing instrumentation, control and electrical systems.
Control Systems Technician Responsibilities

Conduct regular preventive maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) to safeguard system integrity and reliability.
Install and upgrade hardware related to control system modifications and expansions, ensuring seamless integration.
Troubleshoot and repair control system hardware, including analog and digital electronic card modules.
Offer technical support to instrumentation and electrical teams to resolve complex instrumentation problems.
Provide 24-hour on-call support for control systems during operational disruptions and emergency situations.
Instrument Technician/Mechanic Responsibilities

Repair and calibrate flow, pressure, level, temperature and differential pressure transmitters;
Repair and tune various types of controllers associated with process instrumentation;
Install or remove both field and panel mounted equipment;
Pull, repair and calibrate pneumatic and DVC actuated control valves;
Install and set pressure, temperature, flow, level switches and monitoring devices and ensure that they operate properly;
Perform PMs on various process instruments; including dry additive feeders.
Electrician Responsibilities

Comply with all health, safety and environmental practices and policies.
Remove and install electrical related equipment up to 480v.
Installs electrical equipment (examples include but are not limited to conduit, wires, support, and related equipment)
Troubleshooting and repair electrical equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on 480v systems, motors up to 1000 H.P., UPS systems/ batteries, A.C. and D.C. variable speed drive controllers and electrical motors.
Complete minor electrical project work.
Required Qualifications

Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology
Preferred Qualifications

Level II NETA or higher or equivalent certification
Journeyman Electrician License
Knowledge of NFPA 70E and NEC requirements
Instrumentation – Knowledge of how to use diagnostic and calibration equipment
Knowledge of how to troubleshoot and install control valves
Controls – knowledge of how to program and troubleshoot PLCs (e.g. Allen Bradley, Seimens, GE)
Electrical – Able to diagnose and locate circuit, component, and equipment faults
Experience with motor starter/switch gear troubleshooting for AC and DC systems
Knowledge of programming and troubleshooting VFDs.
