Day shift 7am-3pm Monday - Friday, share on-call rotation with the rest of team which could include nights, weekends and holidays

What You’ll Be Contributing
Under the supervision of the Electrical Superintendent, the primary function of the Electrical/Instrument Technician is to maintain, calibrate, perform trouble analysis, consult, research, and develop process control instrumentation for the purpose of obtaining optimum production efficiency.

Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.

Installs, maintains and calibrates process control and instrumentation equipment including, but not limited to, flow meters, thermocouples, RTDs, transmitters, weigh feeders, starters, DC drives, AC drives, VFDs, and emissions analyzers.

Calibrates and maintains all emissions analyzers in accordance with service manuals and regulatory permit requirements.

Maintains instrument logbook on all maintenance activity.

Ensures process control data is being recorded, backed-up and archived.

Performs maintenance on existing instrument equipment.

Performs new instrumentation construction installation.

Operates mobile equipment.

Pull wires and repair or replace lights and fixtures.

Perform ground testing and megger testing.

Repair and service HVAC equipment, laboratory equipment, cameras and kiln scanners, and motors.

Inspect, PM and maintain generators, Pfister and other feeders, MCCs and Transformers, PLCs, hydraulic systems, pressure vessels.

Inspect, PM and maintain other cement plant equipment such as dust collectors, conveyors, kilns, clinker coolers, coal mills, ball mills, vertical mills, vibrators, flow meters, bin level systems, temperature probes, level gauges, fans, blowers, pressure vessels, pumps, valves and gates, air separators, silos, reclaimer, load-out equipment, etc.

Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To Succeed In This Position, You Will Need

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided.

Must have two years of college, technical school, or service training pertaining to instrumentation and electronic technology or four years of related field experience as an instrumentation technician.

Must be knowledgeable in areas of electronics, computers, basic operating systems software (Microsoft Server, Windows XP & Windows 7, and MS office), process analyzers and electrical controls.

Must be knowledgeable in areas of electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, chemistry, physics, and fluid dynamics.

Work requires the ability to read and understand operating manuals, blueprints and schematics.

Must possess good English communication skills - written and interpersonal.

Ability and initiative to make sound decisions.

Excellent work and safety record.

Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required.

Ability to be on call 24/7 as needed.

What To Expect In a Cement Environment
Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Lifting up to 75 pounds. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
