IT Field Technician Lead

Contract & Location
6‑12 month contract‑to‑hire, 100% onsite in San Antonio, TX. Travel required; company vehicle will be provided.

What You’ll Do

Act as the lead field technician, providing hands‑on desktop, deskside, and infrastructure support.

Serve as a technical escalation point for field and desktop technicians.

Lead by example—troubleshoot PCs, networks, and on‑site issues.

Install, configure, and support:

PCs, peripherals, and imaging/refresh projects.

Networking equipment (routers, switches, wireless, VLANs).

Structured cabling and basic infrastructure.

Help coordinate schedules, travel, and site coverage across 15–20 locations.

Mentor junior technicians and enforce technical standards and best practices.

Support large‑scale IT initiatives such as PC refreshes and site buildouts.

Partner with IT leadership to identify issues, improvements, and training needs.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of hands‑on field or desktop IT support experience.

Experience as a lead technician, team lead, or informal mentor.

Broad technical skill set:

Desktop support.

Networking fundamentals.

Cabling and on‑site infrastructure.

Comfortable with travel, primarily driving throughout Texas.

Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a strict DMV background check.

Strong communication skills and a professional, customer‑facing mindset.

Work Environment & Safety

Work may occur in construction sites, plants, or industrial facilities.

PPE such as hard hats, steel‑toed boots, and safety gear may be required.

Environments may be dusty, noisy, or outdoors.

Must be comfortable safely navigating active work sites while performing technical work.

Job Type & Compensation
Contract to hire. Hourly pay range: $40.00–$50.00.
