POSITION SUMMARY
The Sanitation Technician I is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and environmental control across the entire cultivation facility. This role plays a critical function in plant health, contamination prevention, operational efficiency, and overall facility readiness.
Sanitation is not janitorial—it is a core production function directly tied to yield, quality, compliance, and safety.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Post-Harvest Bay Sanitation (PRIMARY FUNCTION)
Perform full sanitation of bays immediately following harvest cycles
Clean and sanitize: JSKs (irrigation systems), Gutters, Walls, Floors, Drains
Ensure removal of all organic material, debris, and residue
Prepare bays to production-ready condition within defined timelines
2. Equipment Sanitation
Clean and sanitize: JAVO machines, Logiqs Cleaner
Ensure all equipment is free of plant debris, residue, and contaminants
Report any equipment damage or abnormalities immediately
3. Facility-Wide Cleaning
Maintain cleanliness across all operational areas: Flower Bays, Mother Room, Veg Room, Harvest Room, Corridors and walkways
Ensure consistent sanitation standards across all zones
4. Dry Rack Sanitation
Clean and sanitize dry racks after takedown
Remove all plant material and residue
Ensure racks are ready for next use without contamination risk
5. Drainage System Maintenance
Clean and maintain: Floor drains, Pits (drainage tanks)
Prevent buildup, blockage, and odor issues
Ensure proper drainage functionality at all times
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES (CRITICAL)
Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA-aligned practices
Properly use required PPE at all times
Safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation agents
Immediately report: Hazards, Near misses, Injuries
Participate in daily and weekly safety checklists (IntelliCrop)
Maintain clean and hazard-free work areas (no slip, trip, or fall risks)
QUALITY & COMPLIANCE EXPECTATIONS
Maintain strict sanitation standards to prevent: Cross-contamination, Pest and pathogen spread
Follow all SOPs related to sanitation and facility hygiene
Ensure all work meets internal audit and regulatory standards
Support compliance with cultivation and environmental regulations
OPERATIONAL EXPECTATIONS
Execute tasks according to production schedules and priorities
Maintain strong communication with Production leadership
Complete assigned areas within required timelines
Demonstrate consistency, attention to detail, and accountability
INTELLICROP & REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete all required sanitation and safety checklists in IntelliCrop
Report: Completed work, Issues or deficiencies, Equipment problems
Ensure documentation is accurate and submitted on time
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Success in this role is measured by:
Timeliness of post-harvest bay turnaround
Cleanliness and readiness of all assigned areas
Compliance with safety and sanitation procedures
Accuracy and completion of IntelliCrop reporting
Reduction of contamination, odor, and drainage issues
Supervisor feedback and inspection results
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand, walk, and work for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry materials as required
Ability to work in wet, humid, and physically demanding environments
Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks
