Overview
Daikin Applied is seeking a full-time
Controls Technician III
in Houston, TX (onsite). You will install, program, and service commercial building digital control systems. Responsibilities will expand with increasing exposure, development of troubleshooting skills, and consistent, accurate completion of assignments. The BAS you will work with includes Daikin branded controls or third-party control systems.

What You Will Do
Provide responsive and professional customer service with the goal of building and maintaining long-term customer relationships
Identify, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot direct digital control systems
Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacement modifications as needed or requested by customers
Maintain building automation systems by inspecting trend logs, reports, schedules, applications, hardware, and programming
Provide controls technical support to HVAC technicians
Train and mentor less experienced technicians
Create and/or implement programming and graphics for new installations and retrofit projects
Commission controls installations and verify that control sequences meet scope, design, or specifications
Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
Interact and train customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call and explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Participate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning. Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
Ensure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld
Follow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Technical training and 5+ years of equivalent education and experience
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Rotational Emergency Call Support as required
Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law
Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in BAS, HVAC, or related industry
Proficiency with test instruments and calibration tools
Experience with engineering/commissioning tools, DDC controllers and field devices, BACnet fundamentals
Experience with HVAC equipment and controls
Ability to read low voltage wiring diagrams and control flow diagrams
Niagara AX and/or Niagara 4 certification
Experience with common integration protocols (BACnet MST/IP, LON, Modbus TCP/RTU, Ethernet OID/OIP, MQTT, SQL)
Strong computer skills and networking fundamentals
OSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (training provided during onboarding)
Current first aid / CPR card
