About the Role

Responsibilities
Inspect diesel engines and related systems to identify issues
Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, etc.)
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems
Repair or replace defective components such as brakes, transmissions, steering systems, and exhaust systems
Use diagnostic software and tools to troubleshoot engine performance issues
Test vehicles and equipment to ensure proper operation after repairs
Perform DOT (Department of Transportation) inspections and ensure vehicles meet federal and state safety regulations
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Follow safety procedures and environmental regulations
Communicate with supervisors or customers about repair needs and timelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
Ability to use diagnostic equipment and repair tools
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy parts
Basic computer skills for diagnostics and reporting
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Must provide and maintain a personal set of tools required to perform job duties
Education & Experience
Minimum 2 years experience working on heavy diesel equipment, trucks, or equivalent experience. (required)
Technical training in diesel technology (preferred)
CDL preferred
Certification such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) is a plus
Work Environment
Typically works in repair shops and offsite/ mobile repairs
May be exposed to noise, fumes, and heavy machinery
May require evening, weekend, or overtime hours
Other Information
Must have a clean Driving Record (preferred)
Pay may vary depending on experience, and certifications
