Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics and complex repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems
Diagnose and repair:
Brake and hydraulic systems
Exhaust systems
Fuel and ignition systems (primary and advanced)
Air conditioning systems
Vehicle computer systems
Electrical systems
All other relevant vehicle systems
Perform suspension work
Rebuild major components (engines, transmissions, pumps, motors) to manufacturer specifications
Complete routine maintenance including inspections, oil changes, and preventative services
Interpret schematics and technical manuals for accurate troubleshooting
Operate heavy equipment safely (forklifts, cranes, trucks, etc.)
Utilize shop tools and equipment including welding tools, lifts, presses, and diagnostic systems
Maintain service records, inspections, and reports
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work bay
Ensure safety compliance and high-quality workmanship
Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to teammates and customers as required
Lead and support technicians while improving workflow and efficiency
Communicate effectively with management and team members
Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive and diesel technology
Qualifications
3-5 years of automotive and/or diesel mechanic experience required
Minimum of 3 years of diesel and/or automotive diagnostic and repair experience
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems
Knowledge of heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and buses preferred
Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
Dealership or heavy equipment experience preferred
Valid driver's license with insurable driving record required
CDL license is a plus
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must have own tools
Ability to lift and perform manual labor in a fast-paced environment
Willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test
Vocational/Technical degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
Strong attention to detail
Team-oriented with strong communication skills and professionalism
Willingness to continuously learn new skills and technologies
