Job Description
As a Light‑Wheel Vehicle Mechanic for the Army National Guard you’ll ensure that anything that moves on wheels is ready to hit the road. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and recovery operations on wheeled vehicles in the field and in the shop.
Responsibilities
Inspect, service, maintain, repair, test, adjust, and replace systems and components.
Perform recovery operations and service electrical systems, including wiring harness and charging systems.
Maintain wheeled vehicles, associated trailers, and material handling equipment systems.
Service automotive electrical systems, including wiring harness, starting, and charging systems.
Helpful Skills
Interest in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical problems.
Interest in automotive engines and how they work.
Training & Compensation
Training (10 weeks Basic Training + 13 weeks Advanced Individual Training) covers classroom instruction and field work. You will receive a regular paycheck while learning valuable job skills and qualify for tuition assistance.
