
Administrator - Ambulatory Surgery Center

We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Administrator to lead day-to-day operations for a high-performing, multi-specialty outpatient surgery center accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body. This role partners closely with physician owners/investors, the governing board, and facility leadership to deliver excellent patient outcomes, strong financial performance, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Direct overall facility operations, including administrative, clinical support, business office, and patient access functions.
Serve as liaison to the Governing Board and Medical Staff; build strong physician relationships and support medical staff coordination.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and safety requirements.
Lead quality improvement, infection prevention, risk management, and patient experience initiatives; monitor KPIs and implement corrective action plans.
Develop and manage operating, staffing, and capital budgets; oversee financial performance, revenue cycle outcomes, and cost controls.
Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, staffing plans, and employee engagement.
Manage vendor, service, and physician contracts; ensure service levels and contract compliance.
Support credentialing/privileging processes and ensure appropriate governance documentation.
Identify opportunities for growth, service line development, and operational efficiency.
Participate in operational reviews and performance reporting with enterprise stakeholders.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred).
2–5+ years of leadership experience in an ASC; or hospital surgical services leadership with direct ASC exposure.
Demonstrated executive-level management experience, including budgeting, P&L accountability, and workforce leadership.
Experience working in a physician-aligned or joint venture environment strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of accreditation readiness, regulatory compliance, quality programs, infection control, and patient safety.
Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and drive growth, operational improvement, and accountability.
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with physicians, staff, and governing boards.
Proficiency with operational reporting and performance metrics; ability to analyze trends and manage risk.
