Job Description
A recognized leader in the thermal processing and environmental testing industries is seeking a dedicated Machine Operator for CNC Metal Fabrication to join their second shift team. The position is for the 2nd shift (2:30 PM‑11 PM). The selected candidate will follow a Monday through Friday schedule and may be required to work overtime as needed to meet production deadlines.
Responsibilities
Read blueprints or job orders for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, determining the sequence of operations.
Operate a variety of machines including cutoff and band saws, shears, rolls, press brakes, CNC punch, and laser to shape and bend metal.
Select, position, and secure tools in tool holders and workpieces in holding devices, fixtures, or machine tables.
Set controls to position tools and workpieces according to specifications, ensuring optimal feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
Supervise the machine operation to verify conformance of the workpiece to specifications.
Perform basic preventive maintenance and operational safety training.
Qualifications
A two-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience in metal fabrication.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job orders.
Proficiency in operating a variety of metal fabrication machines.
Familiarity with CNC programming and inventory control systems.
Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements.
Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
