Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Structural Heart division.

Structural Heart Business Mission
Our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life by designing and providing device and management solutions for treating structural heart disease.

As an R&D Technician you will:

Perform research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems, and products.

Experience in hands‑on prototype development and creation in the areas of catheter delivery systems and braided devices.

What You’ll Work On

Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies, with emphasis on catheter systems and braided devices, including long‑term implants.

Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.

Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.

Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports.

Reviews or develops processing or manufacturing instructions.

Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.

MAY assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross‑functional discussions regarding device performance allegations.

Indicates the reporting relationships, products, budgets, throughput, level and purpose of contacts (internal and external), or other scope measures that are key to this position.

MAY provide work direction to other employees in the work group.

Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones, establishing priorities of individual or project assignments.

Solves complex problems requiring extensive interpretation of procedures and practices to provide leadership in evolving projects. Selects methods and practices to solve problems using ingenuity, creativity, and a high degree of independent action and initiative. Proposes solutions independently; makes decisions on projects. Develops and implements projects from concept to completion.

Required Qualifications

An equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Associates/Technical Degree Preferred.

Minimum 4 years of hands‑on prototyping experience.

Related work experience applying extensive knowledge of complex technical concepts and practices, and a complete understanding of product or systems fundamentals in a functional area.

The base pay for this position is $23.55 – $47.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
