Digital Lab Aide: Acupath Laboratories, Inc. operates a CLIA‑approved, NYS‑licensed, and CAP‑accredited Diagnostics Division that includes Molecular Genetic and FISH testing. Acupath is a 24‑hour/7‑day facility. Join our laboratory team as a Digital Lab Aide, where precision, organization, and technology come together to support cutting‑edge scientific work.
Pay Range
$20.00 - $22.00 / hour
Responsibilities
Digitization:
Operating digital slide scanners and other imaging equipment to convert physical samples into digital format. Review digital images for quality.
File Management:
Organizing, storing, and managing digital images and associated data, ensuring proper documentation and adhering to data privacy regulations.
Equipment Maintenance:
Maintaining laboratory equipment, including digital scanners and other imaging systems, and performing minor repairs or troubleshooting.
Laboratory Support:
Maintaining a clean and organized lab environment, including inventory management and restocking supplies.
Data Entry and Reporting:
Recording and reporting data accurately, potentially using spreadsheets or other data management systems.
Safety Compliance:
Following safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
General Lab Assistance:
Providing support to other lab personnel, such as assisting with testing, collecting data, sample preparation, and participating in team meetings.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and reporting any issues with equipment or processes to senior lab personnel.
Documentation:
Maintaining accurate records of all procedures, experiments, and data, both in notebooks and electronic systems.
Qualifications
Experience in a laboratory or clinical setting is preferred, but not required.
Familiarity with digital imaging systems or LIS platforms is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Comfortable working with computers and managing digital files.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced lab environment.
