Job Summary

This position serves as the Organizational Travel Coordinator/Defense Travel Administrator for the STARE Product Office responsible for managing and executing organizational-level travel operations in support of civilian and military personnel. The incumbent ensures all travel functions are carried out in compliance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Defense Travel System (DTS) policies, and applicable federal laws, while maintaining audit readiness and providing expert customer support.

Roles & Responsibilities
Manage and oversee organizational travel operations supporting CONUS and OCONUS travel for civilian, military, and cross-organizational personnel
Administer the Defense Travel System (DTS) in accordance with Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), applicable laws, and business rules
Review, audit, and process travel authorizations, vouchers, and Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness
Serve as primary Travel Help Desk, provide guidance, troubleshoot DTS issues, and communicate regulatory updates and training requirements to personnel
Assist personnel in resolving outstanding GTCC balances by auditing vouchers and ensuring reconciliation of travel expenses
Provide training to travelers, Approving Officials, Defense Travel Administrators, Finance personnel, and Debt Management Monitors on travel systems and regulatory requirements
Develop, implement, and standardize travel processes to improve efficiency and ensure compliance across the organization
Coordinate OCONUS and foreign travel requirements, including official passports and country clearance processes (e.g., IATP and APACS)
Analyze and resolve DTS errors, including rejected authorizations and funding issues related to Lines of Accounting
Conduct in-processing and out-processing of personnel, including travel briefings and system setup
Perform post-payment audit reviews, generate reports, and complete quarterly internal control worksheets to maintain audit readiness
Escalate complex travel and system issues to higher-level agencies (e.g., DTMO, SATO) as required
Basic Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen
High school diploma required
4+ years travel coordination experience supporting Government or DOD organizations
Hands-on experience with Defense Travel System (DTS) is mandatory
Experience supporting high-volume or complex travel operations
Must have and maintain an active security clearance
May be required to complete financial disclosure (if applicable)
Must be able to meet all pre-employment requirements
