(Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating its 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses: Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our school is a full member of and accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Waldorf School of the Peninsula is seeking compassionate, reliable, and collaborative Substitute Teachers to support our Early Childhood, Grades, and High School programs. Our ideal substitutes are individuals who appreciate Waldorf education, can provide a warm and nurturing classroom presence, and are comfortable stepping into a variety of learning environments.
Responsibilities
Provide classroom supervision and support based on plans left by the lead teacher
Maintain a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Uphold classroom rhythms, routines, and community agreements
Support students’ social-emotional well-being throughout the day
Communicate effectively with faculty and administrative staff
Ensure student safety and follow all school policies and procedures
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
Waldorf training preferred, or interest in, or familiarity with Waldorf education
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Ability to adapt, take initiative, and maintain a steady, grounded presence
On-call, part-time/as-needed basis
Reliable, punctual, and able to work on short notice
Must pass a background check and TB assessment

Compensation
The hourly range for this position is $29 - $30 an hour based on qualifications and experience.
