We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to join a growing and well-established general contractor based in Delray Beach, FL. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all estimating functions and driving the company's preconstruction strategy.
The company has a strong pipeline of commercial and institutional projects across South Florida and offers long-term stability, growth, and the opportunity to make a real impact.
The Role
As Chief Estimator, you will lead the estimating department, manage the bid process, and work closely with executive leadership, project management, and clients to ensure accurate, competitive, and strategic project pricing.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the estimating team across multiple projects
* Oversee all phases of the bidding process from conceptual through final pricing
* Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop accurate estimates
* Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships and solicit competitive bids
* Develop budgets, cost plans, and value engineering options
* Collaborate with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction
* Present estimates and proposals to leadership and clients
* Identify risks and opportunities within project scopes
Project Types
* Commercial construction (ground-up and renovations)
* Institutional and public-sector projects
* Mixed-use and specialty builds
* Multifamily
What We're Looking For
* 10+ years of experience in construction estimating
* Proven experience in a senior or leadership estimating role
* Strong background in commercial construction (ground-up preferred)
* Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
* Experience with estimating software (Procore, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar)
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
