(Administrative & Paralegal Support Role)
Our small business litigation law firm in Irvine is seeking a part-time, Junior Assistant to support our paralegal with administrative tasks and light legal work. This position is well-suited for a student, recent graduate, or paralegal‐track candidate seeking practical exposure to a professional law firm environment while developing core administrative and legal support skills.
This role is designed as an introductory position —you will assist with day-to-day operations and learn through hands-on experience, but it is not a paralegal training program. It is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to gain foundational experience in business litigation and work alongside experienced legal professionals in Orange County.
Ideal candidates are also flexible and willing to occasionally work short shifts or assist on short notice, based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to the firm's paralegal
* Assist with organizing and maintaining electronic and physical case files
* Format, proofread, and edit legal documents and correspondence
* Help prepare some legal documents for filing and service for paralegal
* Update calendars, deadlines, and general office tasks OR Support scheduling coordination and calendar management
* Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and vendors as directed
* Assist with general office duties, including filing, data entry, and document management
* Answer phones, respond to emails, and direct inquiries appropriately
Qualifications
* Entry-level candidates encouraged to apply; prior legal experience is helpful
* Current students, recent graduates, or individuals on a paralegal or pre-law track are welcome
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Clear and professional written and verbal communication
* Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* Reliable, organized, and able to follow instructions in a fast-paced office environment
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take initiative
* Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
