Manufacturing Manager

Position Summary

Provide leadership, guidance and direction to individuals at assigned location. Responsible for employee safety and development, manufacturing of value-added products, application and audit of quality and preventative maintenance procedures, meeting productivity and efficiency requirements through optimized equipment capacity and increased capability of assigned team members.
Primary Responsibilities

Promote and lead a safe, compliant manufacturing environment by ensuring adherence to OSHA and company safety, quality, and operating standards through training, audits, and employee engagement.
Lead daily manufacturing operations, including coordination with maintenance and shipping/receiving, within an empowered team environment focused on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, customer service, and external vendors to meet customer expectations for cost, quality, and delivery.
Create and execute Released Production Orders to produce to Market Rate of Demand (MRD) for the Roselle and Itasca operations.
Support management of capacity requirements and operational efficiencies through improved methods, processes, and quality while supporting IFOT, SLOB, and backorder performance.
Coordinate production requirements and communication with outside secondary operations vendors to ensure timelines, output, and quality expectations are met.
Identify, prioritize, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery performance.
Maintain monthly and annual financial performance by meeting cost targets related to staffing, productivity, quality, and delivery.
Lead, coach, and develop team members through clear expectations, performance management, feedback, and development planning to support operational and engagement goals.
Drive inventory accuracy by monitoring and analyzing stock levels, conducting regular audits, and addressing discrepancies through timely corrective actions.
Ensure effective cross-shift communication and collaboration through clear handoffs, shared expectations, and coordination across shifts and departments.
Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of supervisory and leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, including direct responsibility for employee relations, coaching, and corrective action within an empowered, team-based setting
Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and quality management systems within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated project management and continuous improvement skills.
Disciplined self-starter with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Demonstrated initiative and self-driven leadership, with the ability to independently identify opportunities, take ownership of challenges, and drive solutions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to conduct difficult conversations, manage conflict, and build trust within teams.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across shifts and functional areas to ensure continuity of operations, clear handoffs, and alignment.
Experience using ERP systems to support production planning, inventory accuracy, and coordination with internal and external operations.
Demonstrated experience managing employee relations issues, including performance management, attendance, conduct concerns, and partnering with HR on investigations and disciplinary actions.
Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment (office) is usually low, but much higher when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Position requires 10% travel and may involve overnight stay.
