The Receptionist for the J3 patient waiting lounge serves as the primary point of contact for families and visitors supporting the Coronary ICU, Heart Failure ICU, and Cardiac Short Stay units. This role is responsible for welcoming guests, coordinating and facilitating visitation, and escorting family members to patient care areas in accordance with unit guidelines. They also communicate directly with clinical units by phone to coordinate visits and relay any concerns or updates to the nursing coordinator team.
As often the first impression of Cleveland Clinic, the receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. A warm smile, positive attitude, and compassionate, empathetic approach help set the tone for each patient and family experience. A caregiver in this position works 11:30a - 9p M-F with some weekend coverage as needed l rotating holidays that fall during work week.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform receptionist functions for assigned areas and/or departments.
Greet guests and provide appropriate assistance and information.
Receive, screen, route and respond to incoming telephone calls.
Take accurate messages and ensure timely delivery.
Comply with privacy and confidentiality policies when communicating with callers and guests.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma or GED
One year of related experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two years of college and/or business school
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
Personal Protective Equipment :
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
