Gel Coat Sprayer
Reports directly to the Lamination Supervisor
Full-Time
1st Shift Monday-Friday 3am
11:30am (2-15min paid break, 1 - 30 min unpaid lunch)
Job Duties
Making sure that molds are clean with no contaminates before spraying
Setting up, operating and shutting down gel coat guns and pumps
Spraying gel coat in an even and correct thickness
Perform two toning on parts when required
Performing preventative maintenance on equipment
Reading spray schedules and work orders
Perform gel coating of boat hulls, boat deck molds, and small parts according to production specifications and production schedule, ensuring color, finish and thicknesses are adhered to
Responsible for moving molds utilizing forklift
Knowledge of chemistry, catalysts, resins and other chemicals used in process
Clean, maintain, and test gel coating equipment to ensure it operates as required
Maintain a clean and environmentally safe work area
Ensure high quality of all work done
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Flexible schedule; night and/or early morning shifts
Performs housekeeping and other job-related duties assigned by supervisor
All other duties required by the Lamination Manager and the Plant Manager
Additional Skills and Competencies
Basic mathematical skills
Meeting production schedules
Knowing chemicals, their dangers, safety procedures, mixing procedures and time limits
Ability to work both independently and as a team member
Follow safety and health standards
use of protective equipment as required
Ability to work 8+ hour day shifts (sitting, standing, bending and reaching) and moderate lifting up to 50 lbs
Understand and comply with health, safety and regulatory requirements
Must be able to speak, read, and write English
Perform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or management.
High School Diploma or equivalent, 2 - 5 years of experience with gel coating and fiberglass experience. Prefer knowledge with fiberglass and resin, spray painting, composites, marine material knowledge and marine experience.

Works inside with occasional outside work.
Physical Effort
Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with infrequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs.; stooping, kneeling or crawling with moderate effort; reaching and handling is required often with moderate effort; pushing and pulling of up to 25 lbs.
Physical Environment
Exposure to dirt, dust, hazardous substances and equipment does exist; they occur often. Protective eyewear is required when in production area.
Sensory Attention
Senses of seeing, smelling and touching are required with extreme concentration for long duration.
