School Clerk
Spanish speaking preferred. Atlanta Public Schools is looking for a self-motivated School Clerk to perform a variety of office support tasks for administrators including answering telephones, filing, copying, posting, data entry, typing, and word processing. This position reports to the School Principal and will be assigned to be physically present in the school building location.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent GED and two years of experience preferred. Essential duties include greeting school visitors, answering telephones, drafting document formats, typing forms, letters, reports, memos, contracts and requisitions, executing automated data entry assignments, receiving, sorting and distributing incoming mail, and preparing and issuing bid documents to prospective bidders. The position requires attendance during regular business hours and may require temporary changes in requirements in emergency situations.
Physical abilities include reading small print and viewing a computer screen for prolonged periods, tolerating exposure to noisy conditions, and being able to lift, push, pull and/or carry objects which weigh as much as 5 or more pounds on a frequent basis. Environmental requirements include encountering constant work interruptions, working cooperatively with others, working independently, working indoors, and managing stress.
