Poker Manager
Lead and oversee all poker room operations during your assigned shift, ensuring a seamless and engaging guest experience. In this role, you'll drive team performance, uphold company policies and gaming regulations, and maintain a well-organized, high-functioning poker environment. Oversee all poker games and overall poker room operations to ensure smooth and efficient gameplay.
Supervise, train, and evaluate poker staff, providing feedback and managing day-to-day performance.
Ensure compliance with all company policies and federal/state gaming regulations.
Maintain a strong visual presence on the poker floor and actively monitor activity and guest experience.
Address and resolve employee and guest issues, complaints, and inquiries in a timely manner.
Enforce disciplinary actions for policy violations, including cheating or misconduct.
Coordinate staffing schedules, adjust labor based on business levels, and approve timecards/payroll.
Plan, implement, and oversee poker promotions, tournaments, and special events in coordination with Marketing.
Maintain inventory, secure equipment/supplies, and ensure all daily paperwork and reporting is completed accurately.
Support hiring, training, and communication with casino leadership regarding performance issues, losses, or operational concerns.
5+ years of poker experience, including 13 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of poker operations, including dealing and supervising all approved games.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to stay calm and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and support a team effectively.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
Ability to resolve conflicts and handle stressful situations with both guests and employees.
Proficiency in basic math concepts (probability, percentages, ratios) relevant to poker operations.
Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly, including reports and procedures.
Comfortable using payroll, timekeeping, and attendance systems.
Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment, including physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 lbs.
Must be able to obtain a Minnesota Racing Commission gaming license.
